250 brilliant games needing absolutely no equipment whatsoever!
Deciding which game to play is sometimes like cooking. You choose a recipe then find you don't have all the ingredients. Similarly, you decide on a game to play with your young people then realise you don't have all, or any, of the equipment.
With 250 No Equipment Games you don't need any equipment at all - just participants.
250 No Equipment Games includes games that are "simply brilliant" as described by the scouts and guides that they've been tried out on. Here's an example of one that the young people love:
Ind Inv M N O R [These are the codings which enable you to look up games by type, see below]
We love this game! Anyone who’s ever been kayaking will know that one of the games that they play is to put all the kayaks sideways in a line together and then get the young people to crawl from one end to the other. This game is based on that but with the difference being that they stay dry!
Put the participants in a long line, side by side, shoulder to shoulder. Every alternate person then faces the opposite direction. They all get down on their hands and knees with straight backs and gently sway to and fro. The person at the end of the line then has to crawl along the top of the row of backs without falling off otherwise they have to go back to the start. They then position themself at the end and the next one goes. This can be a timed challenge and it can also be played as a relay."
All of the games are coded and can be cross-referenced by type, including:
B = Blindfold
D = Dark
H = Hours! (i.e. Takes a long time to play)
Ind = Indoor
Inv = Individual
M = Minutes (i.e. Takes a few minutes to play)
N = Noisy
O = Outdoor
P = Pairs
Q = Quiet
R = Relay
S = Seconds (i.e. Very quick to play)
T = Team
Wi = Wide (i.e. Played in a large outdoor area)
No matter whether you have a short amount of time or half-an-hour, nowhere to run around or a whole field at your disposal, in a quiet spot or somewhere where you can make loads of noise, 250 No Equipment Games is for anyone with young, and even not so young, people to amuse with games to suit every situation, all cross - referenced by type and time taken to play.
Some of the games also appear in "1000 Fantastic Scout Games".
